We are prepared for the 2nd air show starting tomorrow
Today we mounted new GoPro cameras on Catwalk and Python and we got really cool film during our practise flights today.
Sus made one long practise flight with the girls, I testflew and I trained my routene in the Python. Its tuned in and works perfect really enjoyed the flight today. We had a problem with the hose in the smoke system on WASP yesterday but Benny change the hose so now its working ok after test today.
Everything seems to get organised on the airport. The organizer calculate with about 60000 visitors each day and the same amout standing outside.
Well tomorrow begins the reason why we are here. Feels good that we are technically ok and well prepared.

A crazy day

What a crazy day..we had small technical issus on all aircraft but all of them solved. The other team here have bigger problem since they lose one of there flight cable to the rudder upon landing. Everything went alright. Its racing, things happen.
I flew all Aircraft today it was fun.
Visibilty in the morning was around 1,5 km in smog so we waited to after lunch and it went better so we flew.
The local goverment invited us for dinner this evening at a hotel nearby. It was very nice. Sus landed in Beijing and went by domestic flight here to Xi'an he will join us for breakfast tomorrow morning.
Hope that he can fly 3 practise flights before the 3 air show days start on friday. Everyone is healty (today) and in good spirit :)
Tomorrow the weather should be ok..:)

WASP and PYTHON tetst flown today
Wasp and Python is test flown and of course when we arrived at the airport a light rain begun at continued for the whole day :) The Wasp (Pitts S2B) always feels so easy to operate its like a Cessna.
The Python is more like a wild horse.
The Aircraft feels in weight like a ultra light with a 260cm 3blade propeller with 420hp I Love the Python when we are friends.
The military gave us a height of maximum 300ft or 100m AGL in height! and 1.5 km of radius around the airfield the visibility was 2000m in light rain, but cloud base was high- I just stayed right over the airfield hard condition for test flight but it worked ok. During takeoff I'm trying to feel if the Aircraft is balance in all controls, if you find something dramatic during roll or just airborne you must take a quick decision to abort or continue the flight.
I didn't take to much attention on the engine since we have not touched anything on them between the dissemble and assemble prio one for me is flight controls. I'm looking at all the wires and try to ser any abnormality like vibration also during pushing G's + and -.
I'm very mentally prepared and I shouldn’t hesitate to bail out if I’m not happy. I think that's My flight mode is to not in any way be connected mentally with My Aircrafts they are just machines who hates me because i'm pushing them a bit ;) The day was good and tomorrow we continue test flights and training.
Hella was much better today Emma to. Benny is smiling and talking again so he is ok to. So now its Nicklas turn he has problems with his stomach now when we arrived to the hotel, well we are well prepared with Imodium. Hope he will be better tomorrow.
I'm a bit proud of myself since we arrived to China I have only been using chopstick to eat with :) it actually feels a bit hard to think about using fork and knife. It is funny how you adapt quickly. A good thing when you eat with chopstick I think is that you eat a bit slower.

Soya juice, recycling and tuff Benny
I have forgot to tell you about the hangar we work in at the airport. This hangar is brand new. It was build last year. At the moment we are 2 teams in the hangar; one on each side and in the middle there is a family living with a child about 1 years old and a few workers. They sleep in home made tents in the hangar. The last days have been Chinese national holiday and they have spent there time smoking, playing card and watching TV in the hangar. We think that they think its ok that we are building aircraft in their home :). You should now that in China lives more than 1,3 billion people! and here its luxury to have your own room to live and sleep in.
Around the airport the goverment has built lots of new asphalt roads however it's farmerland and people is groving corn, and when you harvest the corn you must dry it and what is the most suitable place to dry if not on warm asfalt so the result is that you can see miles after miles of corn in the streets and only one lain is open which makes the traffic even harder.
And sometimes when it gets to much traffic the busdriver has to drive in the corn which I guess its not very popular however yesterday the roads were clean due to the rain.
Benny didn't show up for breakfast this morning and we all get worried. The whole team decided to knock on his door around 8 when we were supose to leave for airport but nobody opened. I decided to run down to the reception and there he was waiting for us un the soffa, Benny is tuff.
We completed the Python and Wasp today so test flights will begin after 10:00 tomorrow.
Emma is better today but Hella has problem with her stomach. She joined us at dinner hope she will be better tomorrow.
It has been hard days to complete 3 planes in 4 days.
Tomorrow i need to change from mechanic mode to flight mode. Always a special feeling to test fly the planes you have been part of putting together.
We have a rutine that when you have complete a section on the aircraft another person check that you have not forgot something its very easy when you start to get tired.
It works good.
Sus is in Sweden but he Will trawell back to china tomorrow, so I will test fly the Catwalk as well.
Emma which is a friend of the enviroment have a hard time here sometimes. In Sweden she recycles as many Swede does, here its diffrent like today when she Said to our organizer that we had some trash, plactic bags, glasbottles plastic bottles food etc, the organizer Said to the mom who are living in the the hangar to help us with that. What happened was that the mom toke the trash picked it up went outside and trough it down in the ditch and Water just outside the hangar. Emma was in chock for several hours...
I explaine that for many people in the world its more importen to just survive the day then to recycle.

Python is soon ready, tomorrow we start assembling Wasp

Tonight we had hotpot at a local restaurant - delicious. Benny is still a bit sick so we visited the local pharmacy to get some cure for the cold he has. He got 3 types of medicine we will see how he feels tomorrow. Emma was also tired so she skipped the dinner. It's intensive days and weeks so it's tuff for everybody.
We got the info that the airspace will open up tomorrow over the airfield for testflights but we finish all the aircraft and start test flights the day after. The plan for tomorrow is to finish Python before lunch and continue with Wasp.
No dancing this evening due to sickness ;)
